Scattered light precipitation is expected to develop during the mid to late afternoon hours on Wednesday. While most of the precipitation should be in the form of rain, it might be just cold enough for a brief period of freezing rain at the onset. Even if temperatures are a few degrees above freezing, some untreated surfaces might become slippery given the very cold weather of the last couple days. Motorists planning travel later Wednesday afternoon into the early evening hours should be prepared for the potential for pockets of light freezing rain and slippery travel in the high terrain. $$
