At 1120 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers and embedded thunderstorms from near Hull to Walpole and Putnam. Movement was east at 35 mph. Wind gusts to 40 mph and torrential rainfall will accompany these storms as they head across northern Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts through 1230 PM. Locations impacted include... Providence, Brockton, Quincy, Cranston, Pawtucket, Taunton, Weymouth, East Providence, Woonsocket, Braintree, Cumberland, Randolph, North Providence, Franklin, Johnston, North Attleborough, Norwood, Stoughton, Bridgewater and Marshfield. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Get indoors when these showers and storms approach. Winds may be strong enough to produce minor damage, such as a few downed branches. Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses. Avoid low lying areas near small streams. These storms may intensify and become capable of producing damage.
