...NWS Meteorologists Continue to Survey Storm Damage Across the
Tennessee Valley from the storms on May 8th and 9th...

The National Weather Service office in Huntsville AL has deployed
two survey teams to investigate damage across Madison, Jackson,
and DeKalb counties in Alabama and Lincoln and Franklin Counties
in Tennessee. The surveys are in relation to the severe
thunderstorms that moved through the area on May 8-9, 2024.

A final assessment including results of the surveys will likely
take a few days to compile before made official. Additional
surveys will be also likely be needed in the upcoming days. We
appreciate your patience. Supplemental drone and satellite imagery
requested will likely lead to further refinements of previous and
future survey results.
