Deepening low pressure will move up the coast tonight. Steady rain
associated with its leading warm front will overspread the entire
tri-state area tonight, then become heavy at times from late
evening into Saturday morning.

As the low moves into the area on Saturday, light rain will
continue through the day. A trailing cold front passes Saturday
afternoon, and it may take until late evening or overnight before
the rain completely ends.

Mild conditions into Saturday should give way to brisk and colder
conditions Sunday as the low moves into eastern Canada, with
temperatures returning to near seasonal averages as winds shift
out of the west.

High pressure briefly building across on Sunday night will give
way to another weaker low moving out of the Plains states for
Monday. With cold air remaining at the surface and warmer air
moving in aloft, a wintry mix of precipitation is likely for the
interior mainly Monday afternoon and night, with primarily rain
for New York City and Long Island. Slippery conditions could be
possible for the Monday evening commute north and west of the
