Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
346 PM EDT Mon Apr 23 2018

High pressure will continue to track east away from the area
tonight. This will allow for a weak southeasterly flow, bringing
in slightly warmer air than Sunday night. Lows will be in the
lower to middle 40s in the New York City metro area, central and
western Long Island, and northeast New Jersey. Lows in the 30s are
expected elsewhere. Skies will start of clear, but high clouds
will increase throughout the night.

Clouds will lower and thicken on Tuesday as an area of low
pressure to our southeast approaches. Lack of sunshine will keep
the seasonably cool conditions across the region, with highs in
the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Rain will affect the region Tuesday night into the middle of the
week as the low continues moving toward the area, with moderate
rainfall by Wednesday morning. Areas of fog and a passing
thunderstorm is also possible. Temperatures should continue to
average below normal.
