This will set up showers that will become more widespread through the day. The showers will be prevalent tonight through Tuesday as well. Some showers could even linger near the coast Tuesday night along with some patchy fog. Some embedded thunderstorms will be possible at times as well today through Tuesday which could produce gusty winds. The bulk of the rain is expected to fall this afternoon through early Tuesday morning. Heavy rain will be possible at times with flooding possible. Dry weather returns for midweek as high pressure builds from the west and the frontal boundary moves well east of the region. Temperatures will be remarkably cooler overall, near normal for highs today with values in the upper 70s to mid 80s. For Tuesday even cooler temperatures are forecast as highs are expected to stay in the 70s. For Wednesday, highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s are forecast. $$ JM
