Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
421 AM EDT Mon Mar 12 2018

Clouds will begin to lower and thicken today in advance of a
developing storm system across the southeastern states. A mixture
of rain and snow arrives this evening, changing to all snow as the
night progresses. The heaviest snow is likely to occur across
Long Island and southeast Connecticut overnight into Tuesday
morning, with lesser amounts in New York City, northeast New
Jersey, and the Lower Hudson Valley. The system will also bring
gusty winds, especially near the coast.

The storm moves away from the region Tuesday afternoon with a
return to mainly dry conditions into Wednesday. It will remain
breezy with temperatures a few degrees below normal for this time
of year.
