Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
604 AM EDT Fri Apr 13 2018

A cold front will skirt the area this morning, then lift just
north of the area this afternoon into tonight. Cloudy skies this
morning and some isolated showers will give way to partial
sunshine this afternoon, and increasing south to southwest flow
will usher in a warm air mass. Inland locations will rise well
into the 70s, with lower 80s not out of the question across
northeast New Jersey. Elsewhere, temperatures will generally climb
into the upper 60s to lower 70s, although locations along the
coast will remain several degrees cooler.

Above average temperatures will continue into at least part of
Saturday before a cold front crosses the region and quickly drops
temperatures 10 to 15 degrees in its wake. Most likely the front
will move across during the early afternoon inland, and during
late afternoon in the metro area and along the coast, but there is
a chance it could push through several hours sooner. So anyone
planning outdoor activities on what should start as a mild
Saturday should be prepared for a sharp change in weather
conditions at any time during the afternoon.
