Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
421 AM EDT Sun Apr 15 2018

A cold front will remain south of the region today as high
pressure builds down from Southeastern Canada. Expect a cold,
easterly flow to continue today. In fact, the easterly flow will
allow temperatures to fall through the first half of the day,
with some locations across interior CT and the Lower Hudson
valley to come close to freezing. Expect cloudy skies today with
a chance of light rain. Some areas across the Lower Hudson Valley
and inland southern Connecticut could see sleet mix in, with
patchy areas of freezing rain also possible.

More significant rainfall is expected late Sunday night into Monday
as another cold front approaches from the west. The rain could
come down heavy at times, with isolated thunder also possible.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain is forecast through Monday night,
with urban and small stream flooding possible.
