Rating: EF4 Estimated Peak Wind: 175 to 180 mph Path Length /statute/: 10.4 miles Path Width /maximum/: 600 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 1 Start Date: 04/23/2026 Start Time: 08:11 PM CDT Start Location: 3 SW Vance Air Force Base / Garfield County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 36.32 / -97.94 End Date: 04/23/2026 End Time: 08:48 PM CDT End Location: 5 ESE Enid / Garfield County / OK End Lat/Lon: 36.38 / -97.80 Survey Summary: This long track tornado began to the south and west of Vance AFB at 811 CDT. The storm moved to the northeast, producing EF4 damage in a neighborhood just east of US81 as well as near S 30th Street and E Rupe Road. Finally, the storm moved to the east and northeast, dissipating just to the west of Enid Woodring Regional Airport. Although some minor adjustments to the tornado path may occur as investigation of aerial damage imagery continues, this will likely be a near-final assessment. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
