Locally intense snowfall will be possible above this elevation under the heavier precipitation bands tonight with snowfall rates of an inch or two an hour. Additional snowfall amounts of 1 to 5 inches will be possible across the Palmer Divide and the southern I-25 corridor south of Colorado City as well as the northern slopes of the Raton Ridge. The Pikes Peak region, Wets and southern Sangre De Cristo could see an additional 2 to 7 inches. Strong north winds 20 to 40 mph will cause areas of poor visibility blowing snow, mainly during the heavier snowfall due to the heavy wet nature to the snow. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Friday morning, some light accumulations of snow will still be possible over the eastern facing slopes of the southern Sangre de Cristo mountains and Raton Mesa until noon. Winds increase across the region for Saturday and again for Monday and Tuesday with near critical fire weather conditions possible across the plains depending on how much rain falls with the current system and the condition of the fuels. For Tuesday night and Wednesday, light accumulating snow will be possible along the Continental Divide. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be likely across the higher terrain of south central and southeast Colorado and portions of the I-25 corridor through tonight. $$ 31/31
