Weather hazards expected... Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited hail risk...up to quarter size. Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph. Limited Flooding Risk. Limited Excessive Heat Risk. DISCUSSION... Expect hot and humid conditions inland of Lake Michigan once again today. Demonstrate basic heat safety. Widely scattered thunderstorms are expected early to mid afternoon, some of which will probably be locally gusty. Thunderstorm coverage is then expected to increase later this afternoon and into the evening, when some storms may become severe primarily with localized damaging wind gusts. This risk is more so for the northern Illinois portion of the outlook area. In addition, these thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall rates and may result in flash flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. Friday... Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
