Some of the eastern mountain peaks may see a couple inches of snow accumulation this afternoon. High fire danger is expected today across the southeast plains, where strong westerly winds can be expected, along with humidities falling below 15 percent. Strong westerly winds along the I-25 corridor, especially from the Colorado City area to the New Mexico border, will cause hazardous driving conditions on north to south oriented roads, including I-25, due to strong crosswinds. Drivers of lightweight or high profile vehicles should be prepared for strong winds, and consider postponing travel until the winds decrease. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Another round of light to moderate accumulating snow will be possible later Sunday night through Tuesday across the Continental Divide, with rain and snow showers spreading across the rest of the higher terrain and eastern plains Monday night through Tuesday. Brisk winds and continued warm dry conditions will lead to the potential for high fire danger across the eastern plains on Saturday and Sunday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be likely along the Continental Divide today, and along the Interstate 25 corridor. $$ 10/27
