The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Vermilion County in east central Illinois...
  Northeastern Champaign County in east central Illinois...

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 947 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Amounts of 2 to 3 inches have
  been estimated in areas north of highway 136 from near Gifford to
  Armstrong northward to the Ford County line since 830 pm. Flash
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Gifford, Potomac, Henning, Middle Fork Wildlife Area, Armstrong,
  Collison, Penfield and Flatville.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Windfall Creek, Upper Salt Fork Drainage Ditch, Whisky Creek, Buck
Creek, Gimlet Branch, North Fork Vermilion River, Bean Creek,
Fountain Creek, Knights Branch, Prairie Creek, Sugar Creek, Collison
Branch, Middle Fork Vermilion River, Bluegrass Creek and Feather
Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
