The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Albemarle County in central Virginia...
  South Central Greene County in central Virginia...

* Until 1145 PM EDT.

* At 850 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

  Charlottesville...                 Westmoreland...
  Hollymead...                       Ruckersville...
  Advance Mills...                   Earlysville...
  Carrsbrook...                      Amicus...

This includes the following Flood Prone Roads...
Route 29 near The North Fork of The Rivanna River, Route 643 near
The South Fork of The Rivanna River, Advance Mills Road and and
Route 617 and Celt Road near Amicus Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
