Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
445 AM MDT Fri Jun 18 2021

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...A weak cold front will push
southward across the north plains this morning, which will usher
in a slightly cooler airmass and increasing moisture and humidity
levels. However, little change is expected over the mountains. Expect
another round of late day showers and thunderstorms, strongest
storms expected over the far northeast plains with gusty winds,
heavy rain and hail. Smoke dispersal will improve to the fair to
good category this afternoon, except good to excellent over the
mountains.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...Expect cooler
temperatures and a better chance of precipitation. Humidity will
improve and surface dewpoints in the northeast will allow good
recovery overnight. Sharp nocturnal surface inversions will still
form on a nightly basis to limit dispersion, breaking mid morning
each day. For Saturday, scattered afternoon showers and
thunderstorms will have high bases and could produce gusty and
erratic wind. More stratiform precipitation is likely Sunday and
Monday, with weaker and isolated thunderstorms embedded. The high
country west of the Continental Divide may remain more dry during
this period, with occasionally stronger wind which will elevate
fire danger. Warm and dry conditions will start to set back in
across northeast Colorado Tuesday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
