...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Lake Michigan Michigan City IN to St. Joseph MI 5 NM offshore to
  mid-line of lake....
  Michigan City IN to New Buffalo MI...
  New Buffalo MI to St Joseph MI...

At 259 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms capable
of producing winds up to 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 16 nm northwest of The St. Joseph
Pierheads to 9 nm northeast of New Buffalo, moving east at 35 knots.
The storms have already produced wind gusts up to 30 knots out of
the west and southwest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
