Clusters of thunderstorms with very heavy rain and occasional to
frequent lightning strikes will affect much of inland Southwest
Florida this afternoon. Areas most likely to see the strongest
storms through 5 PM will be from Immokalee to LaBelle. Gusty winds
to at least 45 mph are also possible with some of these storms as
they move north to northwest. Coastal areas and beaches may also
see some light rain and lightning activity from the inland storms.

Through 5 PM, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be most
concentrated from the Everglades of Miami-Dade County east to the
metro areas from Doral to West Kendall and Homestead. These
showers and storms will drift northwest and cause periods of
heavy rain, occasional lightning strikes and gusty winds to 30
mph. Another area of thunderstorms will extend from The Acreage to
near Belle Glade in Palm Beach County. The remainder of Southeast
Florida should stay mainly dry, although a couple of showers or
even a thunderstorm could form near the coast through late
