...HIGH TEMPERATURE IN LARAMIE, WY ON JULY 12-14 DETERMINED TO BE
INVALID..

After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the maximum
temperature records measured at the Laramie, Wyoming airport on
July 12, 13, and 14, 2024 were invalid. The observed high
temperature at the airport was out of tolerance with reliable
nearby observations. The official record will be amended with the
next CF6 issuance to the high temperature observed at the COOP
backup station, Laramie 2NW. The corrected high temperatures are
89F on July 12, 90F on July 13, and 86F on July 14.

As a result, it was determined that Laramie did not set a new
all-time record high on July 12 or 13. The all-time record of 94F
set on June 23, 1954 and tied on August 5, 1979, July 22, 1982,
and June 15, 2021 remains standing.

Technicians will visit the station to quality control the sensor
and make repairs, replacements, or re-calibrations as necessary.
