...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN
COASTAL PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO THIS AFTERNOON...

DRY SOILS AND FUELS CONTINUE. KBDI VALUES ARE 759 AT CAMP SANTIAGO
AND 748 AT GUANICA. FUEL MOISTURE VALUES REMAIN AROUND 9 TO 10 FOR
THOSE LOCATIONS. RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS FORECAST TO FALL INTO THE
LOW 50S AGAIN TODAY. RELATIVELY STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO EXPECTED,
WITH SPEEDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH.


FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND
SPREAD OF WILD FIRES.

FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING
