URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
237 PM MDT Thu Apr 15 2021

...CRITICAL FIRE CONDITIONS TO INTENSIFY THIS AFTERNOON...

.Strong westerly flow aloft combined with a surface low pressure
system over central New Mexico will result in an increase in
southwesterly winds today. Wind will continue to intensity this
afternoon across most of the area with sustained speeds of 20 to
30 mph throughout the afternoon and evening hours. At the same
time very dry surface air and warm daytime temperatures will
produce critical relative humidities of 6 to 12 percent. These
weather conditions will create high fire danger across much of the
U.S. Southwest. Winds are expected to subside by midnight, along
with poor overnight RH recovery.
