Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

A mostly cloudy to cloudy sky covered the Tri-State area this
morning with sunrise temperatures ranging from 55 degrees in Yuma
Colorado to 67 degrees in Hill City Kansas. During the early
afternoon hours a mostly to partly sunny sky was observed with
breezy south winds. At 2 PM MDT (3 PM CDT) temperatures ranged
from 81 degrees in Yuma Colorado to 88 degrees in Colby Kansas.
Winds were generally from the south gusting up to 40 mph.

OUTLOOK... Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening with
low temperatures in the low to mid 50s in far eastern Colorado and
upper 50s to low 60s east of the state line. Isolated
thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon as a cold front
moves into the area. Winds will be noticeably lighter compared to
the past few days. High temperatures will be much above normal
with mid 80s in far eastern Colorado and upper 80s to low 90s
elsewhere. Precipitation chances remain possible along the front
east of the Colorado Kansas border during the evening with low
temperatures above normal. Dry weather is expected Friday and
Saturday as a large ridge of high pressure moves over the area
from the west. High temperatures will remain well above normal
with 80s and 90s expected, warmest on Saturday. Looking further
ahead into Memorial Day weekend expect a chance of showers and
thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening with a little less
overall coverage Monday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will
remain well above normal.
