The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
Coastal waters from Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach FL out 20 NM...
Coastal waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee FL out 20 NM...
* Until 745 PM EDT.
* At 700 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from near
Chokoloskee to 9 nm northeast of Marco Island to 9 nm east of
Vanderbilt Beach, moving west at 15 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small
hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
* Locations impacted include...
Chokoloskee, Cape Romano Aquatic Preserve, Cape Romano, Naples,
Vanderbilt Beach, Bonita Shores and Marco Island.
