...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM THURSDAY TO 5 PM MST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12
  inches, for the south end of the Wood River Valley and
  surrounding terrain, 12 to 18 inches for the Stanley Basin and
  Copper Basins, and up to 3 feet at or above pass level. Winds
  gusting over 60 mph are likely at or above pass level, peaking
  Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

* WHERE...Frank Church Wilderness, Sawtooth and Stanley Basin, Sun
  Valley Region, Big Lost Highlands, Copper Basin, and the Wood
  River Foothills. This includes Clayton, Stanley, Banner Summit, Ketchum,
  Sun Valley, Galena Summit, Copper Basin, Hailey, Bellevue, and
  Picabo.

* WHEN...From 5 AM Thursday to 5 PM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility at mid and upper
  elevations. Localized whiteout conditions are possible at
  highest elevations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 8
  inches in the valleys , 1 to 2 feet for Island Park and Big
  Holes, and up to 3 feet above pass level. Winds gusting as high
  as 60 mph, wind peaking later Thursday and throughout the day
  Friday.

* WHERE...Big Hole Mountains, Teton Valley, Centennial Mountains,
  Island Park, Beaverhead and Lemhi Highlands. This includes
  Victor, Ashton, Tetonia, Driggs, Pine Creek Pass, Island Park,
  Monida Pass, Targhee Pass, Raynolds Pass, Kilgore, Dubois,
  Spencer, and Small.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Thursday to 11 PM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility, even before the bulk
  of the snow begins. Localized whiteout conditions are possible.

  inches, and up to 2 feet at highest elevations. Winds gusting
  over 60 mph likely especially at mid and upper slopes.

* WHERE...Lost River Range including Mt Borah.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Thursday to 5 PM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow will
  significantly reduce visibility. Localized whiteout conditions
  are possible.

THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Up to 4 inches for lower elevations
  of the South Hills, Albion Mountains, Raft River, and along the
  Utah border...5 to 10 inches for Bear Lake and valleys of the
  Caribou Range. One to three feet at or above pass level.Winds
  could gust as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE...South Hills, Albion Mountains, and all of the southeast
  highlands. This includes Albion, City of Rocks, Malta, Rockland,
  Holbrook, Inkom, McCammon, Downey, Lava Hot Springs, Malad,
  Grace, Soda Springs, Bone, Wayan, and Swan Valley.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. Localized whiteout
  conditions are possible.

  inches, and around 1 foot around Craters of the Moon. Winds
  could gust as high as 60 mph especially across Craters and the
  Arco Desert.

* WHERE...Arco Desert and Lost River Valley. That includes Mud
  Lake, INL, Craters of the Moon, Howe, Arco, Mackay, and Chilly.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow
  could significantly reduce visibility, with localized whiteout
  conditions possible.
