The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* Until 1245 AM HST

* At 949 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers moving over the
  Koolau Mountains with rainfall rates as high as 2 to 3 inches per
  hour. Water levels continue to quickly rise at the stream gages,
  especially at Waikane, Kahana and Punaluu streams and may lead to
  flooding over portions of Kamehameha Highway. Water levels will
  likely continue to rise as additional heavy rainfall moves over
  the area.

* Locations in the warning include but are not limited to...
  Ahuimanu, Hauula, Waimanalo, Kailua, Maunawili, Kaneohe, Kahuku,
  Waikane, Kaneohe Marine Base, Laie, Waiahole and Kahaluu.


A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring in
streams, roads, and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.

Do not cross fast flowing water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn
around, don`t drown.


This warning may need to be extended beyond 1245 AM HST if heavy rain

This flash flood warning replaces the previously issued flood
advisory that was in effect for portions of the island of Oahu.
