Short Term Forecast

1252 PM EDT MON MAY 21 2018

At 1251 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and developing
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Chapanoke to near Old
Trap. These showers were nearly stationary.

These showers will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Pasquotank...southeastern Camden and southeastern Perquimans
Counties, including the following locations: Bob White Fork, Jacocks,
Frog Island, Symonds Creek, Listers Corner, Glen Cove and Forestburg.

Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these
showers...and be prepared for rapid changes in weather and road
conditions. Heavy rain could cause ponding of water on roads...and
possible minor flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas.

Cloud to ground lightning is possible with these developing
thunderstorms. Lightning can strike more than 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle if
you hear thunder or see lightning.
