...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHERN PUTNAM COUNTY...
At 517 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest of
Greencastle, or 24 miles east of Terre Haute, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Greencastle, Cloverdale, Fillmore, Reelsville, and Belle Union.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 30 and 49.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central and
west central Indiana.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
