At 414 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Chivington, or 23 miles north of Lamar, moving northeast at 35 mph. An 82 mph wind gusts occurred in Lamar around 4 pm. Radar has indicated that this storm has continued to intensify and is likely producing large damaging hail. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and two inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
