.SYNOPSIS...A strong arctic cold front is forecast to reach the
Texas coast tonight, move into the NW Gulf early Wed, and sweep
across the rest of the basin through Thu night. A Gale Warning
is effect for the NW Gulf for near gale north winds with
frequent gusts to gale force, and also for offshore of Tampico
for gale- force north winds developing west of the front Wed and
Wed night and off Veracruz for Wed night through Thu night.
These winds will produce rough to very rough seas, peaking to
around 18 ft Wed night off Tampico. Winds and seas will diminish
during the weekend. A trough will likely develop from the
frontal remnants over the southwestern Gulf on Fri and linger
through Sat night while weakening. Fresh to strong winds are
expected through the period, becoming more confined to the
waters north of 22N and west of 90W Fri through Sat night.
Conditions improve Sun and Sun night.

.TONIGHT...SE winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming S to SW 20 to 25 kt
late. Seas 5 to 7 ft, building to 6 to 8 ft late. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms.
.WED...N to NE winds 25 to 30 kt, except with frequent gusts to
40 kt W of 94W. Seas 7 to 10 ft. except 8 to 12 ft W of 94W.
.WED NIGHT...N to NE winds 20 to 30 kt, diminishing to 20 to 25
kt late. Seas 8 to 11 ft in N to NE swell, except 9 to 13 ft W
of 94W.
.THU...N to NE winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft.
.THU NIGHT...NE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft in NE to E
swell.
