06/24/2019                   KANAWHA            WV   NWS STORM SURVEY

            A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE LINCOLN/KANAWHA COUNTY
            LINE. IT CONTINUED MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST THROUGH
            KANAWHA COUNTY AND EVENTUALLY DISSIPATED NEAR THE
            KANAWHA RIVER IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON. THE TORNADO WAS
            INTERMITTENT AS IT MOVED ALONG ITS PATH. MANY TREES WERE
            SNAPPED AND/OR UPROOTED. THE SURVEY TEAM ALSO NOTED
            MINOR ROOF DAMAGE. PRELIMINARY REPORTS SUGGEST THAT THIS
            TORNADO WAS A EF1 WITH WIND SPEEDS UP TO 90 MPH. IT WAS
            ON THE GROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY 11 MILES WITH A WIDTH OF
            0.2 MILES.
