...Showers With Heavy Downpours Next Few Hours...

An area of moderate to heavy rain showers continues to develop
along a corridor from near Lamoni north to near Des Moines. The
heaviest rainfall is currently over far southern Iowa...but is
expanding north along Interstate 35. Travelers along area highways
and interstates... particularly Interstate 35 and the I80 corridor
nearer Des Moines after midnight...may encounter periods of heavy
rainfall...lowered visibility and possible ponding of water on
road surfaces.

If you encounter heavy rainfall while traveling...slow down and
use extra caution. Water on roadways may lead to hydroplaning and
loss of control of your vehicle. The area of rain and heavier showers
is expected to last overnight as they move east northeast by Monday
