A high risk of rip currents continues today at all area beaches and overall, a poor day to be at the beaches. Through the day, a complex of strong to severe thunderstorms will move along the coast and Gulf waters with damaging winds, hail, isolated tornadoes and waterspouts. Surf heights will be around 2 to 4 feet with rough surf in and around storms and stronger winds. If severe weather warnings are issued, seek sturdy shelter away from the beach and open areas.
