Warming trend also continues thru the weekend. Mostly dry and quiet weather next week though low probability for rain showers and thunderstorms will be present at times. && .SHORT TERM...Tonight through Friday night. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will dissipate thru the evening and first half of the night along with cloud cover with mostly dry and mostly clear skies expected the latter half of the night. Northeasterly breezes will also ease thru the evening and tonight. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s to upper 30s. Closed upper low continues to reside over southern Nevada and northwest Arizona with northeasterly flow over the forecast area. This will bring another round of isolated to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms under partly cloudy skies in the afternoon with higher probabilities of activity along and south of the US Highway 50 corridor. Modest PWATs limit the probability of wetting rains and most rain totals will be less than 0.10. Main concerns will be occasional lightning and erratic and gusty outflow winds associated with thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms dissipate thru the evening and first part of Friday night with cloud cover also dissipating. Northeasterly gradient winds will again be breezy Friday afternoon with gusts around 25 mph, easing overnight. Daytime high temperatures will be slightly warmer than Thursday with most observing 60s. Overnight lows will be mostly in the 30s. && .LONG TERM...Saturday through next Thursday. Saturday, a closed low will be over Utah, allowing for occasionally breezy north winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph, and isolated to scattered showers to develop in the afternoon across eastern Nevada. Highs across the state will generally be in the 70s, with lows in the 40s. Sunday and beyond, high pressure over the Pacific will gradually propagate eastward, bringing quiet weather and spring like conditions to the state though low probability for rain showers and thunderstorms will be present at times. Highs will generally be in the upper 70s to low 80s through next week and lows in the 40s. && .AVIATION...Active weather across the eastern Nevada this afternoon, with VCSH or VCTS expected at almost all terminals. VFR will be the primary flight category although brief periods of MVFR are expected under any showers or thunderstorms that move on terminal along with gusty and erratic outflow winds. Breezy northeasterly gradient winds will also be present in the afternoon with gusts 20 to 25 kts. Friday, active weather shifts south, affecting terminals ELY and TPH. VCSH or VCTS are expected there. Breezy winds will be present across NE NV with gusts 20-25 kts. KWMC remains AMD NOT SKED due to a communications issue. && .HYDROLOGY...Elevated flows continue across several streams, creeks, and rivers throughout northern and central Nevada due to seasonal snow melt. Temperature forecasts for the upcoming weekend and into early next week depict spring-like temperatures into the 70s and possibly the low 80s in some spots. Given the amount of high elevation snowpack remaining, look for runoff to increase, causing continued elevated flows for many area streams and rivers across northern and central Nevada. The Humboldt River at Battle Mountain resides in action stage and is forecast remain in action stage for the next several days. The Humboldt River at Comus is in action stage and is forecast to remain in action stage for the next few days. Wildhorse Dam currently resides in action stage and is forecast to remain in action stage for the next several days. The Owyhee River near Mountain City has moved out of action stage (7.0 feet) and currently resides at 6.4 feet. The river is forecast to fluctuate the next several days, but continue a general decreasing trend. The flood advisory has been canceled. && .LKN Watches/Warnings/Advisories... None. && $$ 92/91/91
