...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CLINTON...
NORTHEASTERN ESSEX...NORTHWESTERN ADDISON...SOUTHWESTERN GRAND ISLE
AND CENTRAL CHITTENDEN COUNTIES THROUGH 745 PM EDT...

At 651 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Westport, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could capsize small watercraft, knock down tree
         limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage
         to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Essex Junction, South Burlington, Burlington International Airport,
Burlington, Peru, Willsboro, Westport, Elizabethtown, Winooski,
Colchester, Essex Junction Village, Williston, St. George,
Keeseville, Shelburne, Charlotte, Port Kent, Essex, Jericho Village,
and Jericho.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 87 between mile markers 114 and 147.
 Interstate 89 between mile markers 81 and 96.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
