...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTH CENTRAL WILL AND
SOUTHEASTERN COOK COUNTIES UNTIL 500 PM CDT...

At 413 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
near Homer Glen, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and brief heavy downpours will be possible
with this storm. Some of the wind gusts will occur before it starts
to rain.

Locations impacted include...
Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Chicago Heights, New Lenox,
Homer Glen, Blue Island, Alsip, Matteson, Mokena, Frankfort, Lemont,
Midlothian, Justice, Worth, Flossmoor, Posen and Olympia Fields.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
