Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
238 PM PDT Mon May 13 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Not a lot of change day to day, at least for the first half of the
week. There is a 5 to 10 percent chance of thunderstorms across the
mountains each afternoon and evening through Wednesday over the
mountains of Ventura, Los Angeles, and eastern Santa Barbara Counties.
Any hazards associated with the thunderstorms will be isolated dry
lightning with gusty and erratic winds. Otherwise, a deep marine layer
will be in place through Wednesday, bringing elevated humidities to the
coasts and valleys. Across the mountains and interior areas, humidites
of 15 to 25 percent will be common each day, locally down to 10 percent
across the eastern portion of the Antelope Valley/Foothills. Winds will
be pretty benign, except for the Antelope Valley where SW to W wind
gusts of 30 to 35 mph, (locally 40 mph this afternoon and evening near
the foothills) will be common each afternoon and evening.
