OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
855 AM CDT Sun May 12 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Light south winds early this morning will become breezy this
afternoon as a wave of low pressure around 29.5 inches and its
associated cold front moves across northern Wisconsin. The low and
cold front will then slowly move across northern Lake Michigan
tonight. Thus the winds will shift to light northwest late tonight
over the north half, while modest southwest winds continue over
the south half. The cold front will slowly move south on Monday
bringing light to modest northerly winds to the entire lake by
later in the day.

Breezy northerly winds and building waves will then develop over
the south half late Monday night into Tuesday night as low
pressure passes to the south, while high pressure extends from
western Hudson Bay into Wisconsin.
