FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN

...LIGHTER WINDS TODAY ALONG WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES...

.DISCUSSION: With high pressure building over Lake Superior
today, expect north to northwest winds gusting up to 20 mph over
eastern Upper Michigan. To the west, winds will be lighter, only
gusting to around 10 mph out of a mainly northerly direction. Plan
on mostly sunny skies with high temperatures ranging from the 40s
along Lake Superior to the lower 60s from interior western into
south central Upper Michigan. Lowest minimum RH this afternoon
will be over interior western Upper Michigan at around 30 percent.
RH recovery tonight will be to 75 to 93 percent. Wednesday will be
a little warmer, but winds will be light with gusts mostly under
15 mph. Lowest minimum RH on Wednesday will be over eastern Upper
Michigan at around 35 percent. A few showers will be possible
over south central Upper Michigan, and then late in the day over
western Upper Michigan. Scattered showers will then be possible
across the area Wednesday night. The next chance of more
widespread showers and some thunderstorms will arrive Thursday
night into Friday morning. A cool weekend will follow.
