Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior...UPDATED

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Today high pressure of 30.6 inches will move over New
England, followed by low pressure of 29.8 inches tracking over
the Arrowhead of Minnesota. Tonight, this low will deepen to 29.7
inches as it tracks over Lake Superior. This low will continue to
lift northeast towards James Bay Friday night while further
deepening to 29.5 inches. In its wake, a 30.7 inch high will move
south across the northern Plains on Saturday. This high will shift
over the central Plains by Sunday morning as a 30.1 inch low
pressure trough slides south across Lake Superior. A 30.4 inch
ridge will then begin to build south towards the Upper Great Lakes
on Monday.

.TONIGHT...West winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northwest 10 to
20 knots by midnight, then increasing to 15 to 25 knots late.
Widespread drizzle and numerous snow showers in the evening, then
areas of drizzle after midnight. Waves subsiding to 1 to 3 feet,
then building to 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet.
.FRIDAY...Northwest winds 15 to 25 knots. Isolated rain and snow
