Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Low pressure of 29.3 inches over northern James Bay
will lift northeast into Quebec by this evening. An associated
trough of 29.7 inches will sweep across northern Lake Superior
through today. In its wake, a 29.9 inch high pressure will build
to 30.0 inches as it moves across Manitoba to northern Ontario
tonight. As the high moves to southern Quebec Wednesday evening,
low pressure of 29.6 inches will organize over southern Manitoba.
This low will deepen to 29.2 inches as it tracks across northern
Ontario on Thursday. An associated 29.6 inch trough will sweep
across Lake Superior Thursday night, lingering much of Friday
despite the low tracking into Northern Quebec. Predictability is
lower Saturday, but a 29.9 inch high pressure ridge may build back
into Manitoba.
