The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Christian County in south central Kentucky...
* Until 900 PM CST Sunday.
* At 258 PM CST, emergency management, trained weather spotters, and
broadcast media reported widespread flash flooding occurring
across central and southern Christian County. Additional heavy
rain is moving into the area, which will only worsen the ongoing
flooding. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Fort Campbell, Pembroke, Lafayette and
Herndon.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
