.Synopsis for Eastern North Carolina coastal waters...
High pressure will shift east of the area this weekend as the
remnants of Isaias move north through the Gulf Coast States. The
gradient between these two systems will lead to a period of
moderate to strong southerly winds this weekend, with gale-force
winds possible for primarily outer waters. This will lead to
elevated seas as well. The stronger winds will also be accompanied
by an increased risk of thunderstorms. Southwest to west winds
develop early next week in the wake of the weekend winds and
elevated seas.
Gale Watches are in effect for all waters beyond 20 nm and all of
Onslow Bay Saturday into Sunday night.
