   ANZ500-080800-  1058 PM EDT Fri Aug 7 2026      .SYNOPSIS FOR THE TIDAL POTOMAC AND MD PORTION OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY...    High pressure will be persistent off the east coast into early next  week. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue through Saturday  afternoon, before taking a brief respite Sunday into Monday. Daily  showers and storm return Tuesday through much of next week. Gusty  winds and frequent cloud to ground lightning will be the primary  threats with any storms. Special Marine Warnings will be a  possibility each day, with the highest chances furthest north.  However, anywhere on the waters will have a chance at storms. Small  Craft Advisories may be needed at times through the weekend due to  periods of southerly channeling.    $$
