   GMZ500-GMZ501-310700-  156 PM CDT Thu Jul 30 2026      .SYNOPSIS FOR PASCAGOULA TO ATCHAFALAYA RIVER OUT 60 NM...    High pressure over the southeast gulf will keep a predominantly  westerly to SW flow regime through the remainder of the week. There  will be the usual diurnal increase in winds over the eastern waters  where winds approach and sometimes slightly exceed 15 knots during  the evening and part of the overnight hours before diminishing. A  weak front will settle toward the northern gulf later today and  remain nearby through the weekend, bringing increasing thunderstorm  coverage. Seas will generally remain 1 to 3 feet nearshore and 2 to  4 feet offshore, although locally hazardous winds, waves, lightning,  and reduced visibility will occur near stronger storms.    $$

Waves 1 foot or less, then around 2 feet in the  afternoon.  FRIDAY NIGHT  South winds 10 to 15 knots, diminishing to 5 to  10 knots after midnight. Waves around 2 feet.  SATURDAY  South winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less, then  around 2 feet in the afternoon.  SATURDAY NIGHT  South winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming northwest  20 to 25 knots after midnight. Waves around 2 feet, building to 3 to  5 feet after midnight. A chance of showers with a slight chance of  thunderstorms after midnight.  SUNDAY  North winds 25 to 30 knots, becoming northeast 15 to  20 knots in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
