   GMZ500-GMZ501-161915-  124 AM CDT Wed Jul 16 2025      .SYNOPSIS FOR PASCAGOULA TO ATCHAFALAYA RIVER OUT 60 NM...    Benign conditions will continue through today as high pressure  remains overhead or at least nearby. Winds will be generally offshore  at 10 knots or less with seas under 2 feet. The only exception would  be the threat for brief gale force wind gusts and waterspouts from  increasing storm coverage associated with an approach weak area of  low pressure currently situated over the northeast Gulf. Increased  winds and seas are likely as this weak area of low pressure enters  the coastal waters on Thursday through Friday with wind gusts  exceeding 20 to 25 knots and seas as high as 5 to 7 feet in the open  Gulf waters. Seas and winds will weaken, but remain oriented onshore  (southwesterly) through the weekend.    $$
