A powerful kona storm developing to the  northwest will approach the state on Tuesday bringing a period of  wet unsettled weather and strong southerly winds to coastal  waters through the forecast period.    $$

Seas 3 to 5 feet.  Wave Detail: East southeast 5 feet at 5 seconds. Hazy this  morning. Isolated showers.  TONIGHT  West of the Big Island, north winds 7 to 10 knots,  becoming 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Near South Point, east  winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Wave Detail: Southeast  4 feet at 5 seconds. Hazy. Isolated showers after midnight.  TUESDAY  West of the Big Island, east northeast winds 15 to  20 knots, veering to south southwest in the afternoon. Near  Kawaihae, winds variable less than 10 knots, becoming west 7 to  10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Wave Detail:  Southeast 4 feet at 5 seconds. Hazy in the morning. Isolated  showers.  TUESDAY NIGHT  West of the Big Island, north northeast winds  7 to 10 knots, veering to east southeast 10 to 15 knots after  midnight. Near South Point, east winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to  5 feet. Wave Detail: South southeast 4 feet at 5 seconds and west  northwest 3 feet at 13 seconds. Scattered showers.  WEDNESDAY  South southeast winds 15 to 20 knots west of the Big  Island...variable less than 10 knots near Kawaihae. Seas 4 to  6 feet. Wave Detail: South southeast 4 feet at 5 seconds and west  northwest 4 feet at 11 seconds. Numerous heavy showers with  isolated thunderstorms.  WEDNESDAY NIGHT  Winds south winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to  6 feet. Wave Detail: South southeast 4 feet at 4 seconds and west  northwest 4 feet at 10 seconds. Heavy showers with isolated  thunderstorms.  THURSDAY  West of the Big Island, south southeast winds 15 to  20 knots.
