   ANZ500-090800-  1247 PM EDT Sat Aug 8 2026      .SYNOPSIS FOR THE TIDAL POTOMAC AND MD PORTION OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY...    High pressure will be persistent off the east coast into early next  week. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue through Saturday  afternoon, before taking a brief reprieve Sunday into Monday. Daily  shower and storm chances return Tuesday through much of next week.  Gusty winds and frequent cloud to ground lightning will be the  primary threats with any storms. Special Marine Warnings will be a  possibility each day, with the highest chances over the northern  waters. However, anywhere on the waters will have a chance at  storms. Small Craft Advisories may be needed at times through  Saturday due to periods of southerly channeling.    $$
