   ANZ500-070800-  229 PM EDT Wed May 6 2026      .SYNOPSIS FOR THE TIDAL POTOMAC AND MD PORTION OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY...    A cold front will slowly slide southeast of the Mid-Atlantic through  Thursday as a weak wave of low pressure glides by to the south over  the Carolinas. High pressure will build from the Midwest to the  Mid- Atlantic Thursday night through Friday night before moving  offshore on Saturday. Another cold front will approach from the  Ohio River Valley on Sunday. Northerly wind gusts may briefly  approach 20 knots Thursday morning over the main channel of the  Chesapeake Bay, then northwesterly wind gusts may briefly approach  20 knots late Thursday night into early Friday morning over the  middle Chesapeake Bay and lower tidal Potomac River. Westerly wind  gusts could approach 20 knots Friday afternoon over the upper  Chesapeake Bay and upper tidal Potomac River. More widespread gusts  around 20 knots are possible out of the south late Friday evening  through Saturday afternoon, and again Sunday afternoon and evening.    $$
