Areas of fog early. Rain  and thunderstorms early, then rain. Rain, sleet likely with a  chance of snow late. Waves 2 to 3 feet building to 5 to 9 feet.  TONIGHT  Northwest winds 20 to 25 knots. Gusts up to 35 knot  gales. A slight chance of snow in the evening. Waves 7 to 11 feet  subsiding to 6 to 9 feet.  THURSDAY  West winds 15 to 20 knots becoming southwest 10 to  15 knots. Sunny. Waves 5 to 7 feet subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.  THURSDAY NIGHT  South winds around 10 knots increasing to  35 knot gales. Gusts up to 25 knots increasing to 40 knot gales.  A chance of rain overnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 4 to  7 feet.    Winds and waves higher in and near thunderstorms.    The water temperature at St. Joseph is 36 degrees and at Michigan  City is 39 degrees.    $$
