High pressure will very briefly build  across the northern waters today ahead of an approaching low  pressure system. The low will track NE just N of the area today  and tonight while pushing a cold front across the area. The cold  front will move SE through the northern waters today into  tonight, the central waters later tonight and Tue, then dissipate  near the southern waters late Tue or early Tue night. High  pressure will rebuild across the northern and central waters  behind the front Tue into Wed, then gradually drift N through  Fri. A trough will develop across interior California Tue night,  gradually strengthen and drift toward the coast through Thu  night, then persist through Fri night.    $$
