At 728 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
over mainly areas of northwestern Puerto Rico, moving west at 15
knots.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.

Stay alert and be prepared to take shelter if storms develop. .Excessive Rainfall...Ponding of water in roads and poorly drained areas, particularly across west Puerto Rico. .Excessive Heat...Limited risk across the local islands. This level of heat affects primarily those individuals extremely sensitive to heat, especially when outdoors without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. .Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the surf zone, particularly across the north facing beaches. Isolated stronger rip currents may occur elsewhere, especially near piers, jetties, and channels. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday The risk of rip currents along the north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands is expected to increase tonight into Friday as a northerly swell spreads across the local waters. As a result, life-threatening rip currents are likely within the surf zone. There is a high chance of urban and small stream flooding on Sunday, as moisture levels are expected to reach their highest values during the forecast period. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
