This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A brief wintry mix with light snow/sleet accumulations is
possible west of I-95 before sunrise this morning.

A Gale Warning is in effect from this afternoon through tonight.
Strong wind gusts are possible in the lower Potomac River south of
Cobb Island, and the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding bays and
tributaries south of North Beach.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Slight Winter Storm threat for a wintry mix of snow and freezing
rain Friday into Friday night. If this threat materializes, then
travel disruptions are possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

...BRIEF PERIOD OF GUSTY WINDS POSSIBLE MIDDAY THROUGH EARLY
THIS AFTERNOON...

A brief period of northerly to northwesterly wind gusts to around
20 knots is possible for a time around midday through early this
afternoon as low pressure passes by to the south. More persistent
and higher wind gusts are expected later this afternoon when
Small Craft Advisories and Gale Warnings go into effect.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should exercise extra caution if navigating the waters
during this time.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and
  waves 2 to 4 ft expected.

* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay from North Beach MD to Smith Point VA,
  Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA, Choptank
  River to Cambridge MD and the Little Choptank River, Patuxent
  River to Broomes Island MD, and Tangier Sound and the inland
  waters surrounding Bloodsworth Island.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 4 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels.
